Chemical Engineering/ Technology as a Career option

Introduction

Chemical Technology involves the application of physical sciences like Physics Chemistry with Mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials into more useful and valuable products. A person who studies this and works in this field is called a Chemical Engineer.

Chemical Technology find the best possible way to manufacture products. A Chemical Engineer translates processes developed in the laboratory for the production of variety of products such as medicines & pharmaceuticals, detergents, cement, fertilizers, rubber, plastics, petrochemical & petroleum products, fuels etc. A Chemical Engineer designs plants to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Their work also extends to processes in nuclear energy, materials science, food production & technology, the development of new sources of energy and even in the field of medicinal sciences.

Courses & Eligibility

An individual aspiring for a career in Chemical Technologist joins the Bachelor of Technology (BTech.) program after his/her 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry with Mathematics. The B.Tech program is of four years duration. Admission to B.Tech. program is made generally through MH-CET, JEE and MGMU CET tests.

sector like MPCB, CPCB and State and Central Industrial Safety and Health Depts.

Pay-Package

Chemical Engineers are in great demand in today’s rapidly growing chemical industries throughout the globe. There is no bar to the salary of a Chemical Engineering graduate. Work experience, qualifications, ability are important factors in determining the pay packages.

Sambhajinagar.

The focus of the B.Tech. program in Chemical Engineering is on Mass Transfer Operation, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Chemical Process Equipment & Design, Process Control, Industrial Pollution Control, Process Industry and Industrial safety.

Career as a Chemical Engineer

Chemical Engineering provides tremendous job and career opportunities to the young masses. Chemical Engineers find employment opportunities in all types of industries. Apart from process, product development and design. Chemical Engineers also work in areas such as Research and Development, Environmental studies, Government sector, market analysis, data processing, sales and management.

A Chemical Engineer gets a job in industries like cement, fertilizers, soaps & detergents, plastics & polymers, petroleum & petrochemical products, food & beverages, drugs & pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, Energy sectors like power plants, Design industry, Environmental sectors in the public sector as well as the private sector. Government the society is nurtured during the four years of degree tenure. World class amenities, state of the art laboratories, seasoned faculty, congenial atmosphere and diligent academic pursuit makes JNEC, an institute with the difference.
