Abhijit Kotnis and Anjali Sinha Honoured

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug. 5: On the occasion of the third death anniversary of Principal Pratap Borade, former trustee of MGM, two alumni of Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (JNEC) were honoured with the ‘Principal Pratap Borade Memorial Honour’ in the presence of distinguished guests. The 2026 Principal Pratap Borade Memorial Honors were presented to Abhijit Kotnis and Anjali Sinha at Rukmini Auditorium today.

Mathematician Prof. Dr. N. K. Thakare, MGM President Kamalkishor Kadam, Vice-Chairman Dr. P. M. Jadhav, Secretary Shri Ankushrao Kadam, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, educationist Bhausaheb Rajale, Mrs. Shashikala Borade, Dean Dr. H. H. Shinde, Principal Dr. Vijaya Musande, awardees Abhijit Kotnis and Anjali Sinha, members of the Borade family, faculty members, students and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The programme was compered by Prof. Aarti Salunke and Prof. Medha Naik. The programme began with a video presentation showcasing the life and contributions of Principal Pratap Borade. Principal Prof. Dr. Vijaya Musande proposed the vote of thanks.

The Principal Pratap Borade Memorial Honour comprises:
A memento, shawl, statue of Mahatma Gandhi, bouquet and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

Principal Prataprao Borade was an ever-smiling, positive and cheerful personality who brought happiness into the lives of others. Everyone who came in contact with him experienced a sense of belonging and warmth. Throughout his life, he worked to instil not only academic excellence but also sensitivity, simplicity and human values in students. He lived by the principle that hands extended to help the needy are greater than hands folded in prayer.

The award-winning alumni are the institution’s true brand ambassadors, and through their conduct and work, the identity of JNEC continues to reach society. Principal Prataprao Borade was truly a remarkable personality, not merely by name but through his work and character.

Principal Prataprao Borade had an ever-smiling, cheerful and energetic personality. He possessed an exceptional ability to communicate effortlessly with people of all age groups and connect with them at an intellectual level. He did not merely build an educational environment; he shaped countless students through value-based education and संस्कार.

Today, MGM alumni are making significant contributions across various fields around the world, and they have played an important role in enhancing the institution’s reputation. Principal Borade instilled in students the values of becoming individuals who contribute to society. By bringing talented and accomplished personalities from different fields into the institution, he enriched MGM’s educational legacy. Today, the influence of Principal Borade’s thoughts and values can be clearly seen in every successful student of the institution.

Abhijit Kotnis, Awardee

Returning to the institution after nearly three and a half decades is an emotional and inspiring experience. Principal Prataprao Borade left a lasting impression on students through his discipline, affectionate nature, vision and boundless enthusiasm. Although he was a strong advocate of discipline, he was equally warm and caring towards students.

As the architect of JNEC, he created an excellent educational environment, modern facilities and opportunities for growth for students from Maharashtra and across the country. He not only produced skilled engineers but also shaped capable individuals with strong values.

In changing times, students should understand the importance of financial literacy along with technical knowledge, develop a strong command of fundamental concepts and remain lifelong learners who continuously acquire new knowledge and skills. Developing the ability to communicate effectively and build meaningful relationships with people is equally important. The education received at JNEC, in terms of quality, values and holistic development, is in no way inferior to that offered by any renowned institution in the country.

Anjali Sinha, Awardee

The honour named after Principal Prataprao Borade Sir is the greatest award of my life. Although I have received several awards so far, this recognition, presented in the memory of a teacher who dedicated his life to shaping individuals, is truly special.

Four things are extremely important for achieving success: hard work, smart work, effective networking and personal branding that creates a positive identity. Borade Sir taught us that JNEC instilled a sense of equality among students. The uniform eliminated distinctions based on wealth, social background or the state from which a student came, and every student became an identity and representative of the institution wherever they went.

She expressed that the institution and the values and guidance imparted by Principal Borade have played a significant role in her success.

एमजीएममध्ये प्राचार्य प्रताप बोराडे स्मृती सन्मानाचे वितरण संपन्न

अभिजित कोटणीस आणि अंजली सिन्हा यांना करण्यात आले सन्मानित

छत्रपती संभाजीनगर, दि.५ : एमजीएमचे विश्वस्त प्राचार्य प्रताप बोराडे यांच्या तिसऱ्या स्मृतिदिनानिमित्त जवाहरलाल नेहरू अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाच्या दोन माजी विद्यार्थ्यांना आज मान्यवरांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत ‘प्राचार्य प्रताप बोराडे स्मृती सन्मान’ देऊन सन्मानित करण्यात आले. वर्ष २०२६ चा ‘प्राचार्य प्रताप बोराडे स्मृती सन्मान' अभिजित कोटणीस आणि अंजली सिन्हा यांना आज रुक्मिणी सभागृहात प्रदान करण्यात आला.

यावेळी, गणिततज्ञ प्रा.डॉ.एन.के.ठाकरे, एमजीएमचे अध्यक्ष कमलकिशोर कदम, उपाध्यक्ष डॉ.पी.एम.जाधव, सचिव अंकुशराव कदम, कुलगुरू प्रा.डॉ.विलास सपकाळ, शिक्षणतज्ज्ञ भाऊसाहेब राजळे, श्रीमती शशिकला बोराडे, अधिष्ठाता डॉ.एच.एच.शिंदे, प्राचार्या डॉ.विजया मुसांडे, सन्मानार्थी अभिजित कोटणीस आणि अंजली सिन्हा, बोराडे कुटुंबीय, प्राध्यापक, विद्यार्थी व सर्व संबंधित उपस्थित होते.

प्राचार्य प्रतापराव बोराडे हे सदैव हसतमुख, सकारात्मक आणि इतरांच्या आयुष्यात आनंद निर्माण करणारे व्यक्तिमत्त्व होते.त्यांच्या सहवासात आलेल्या प्रत्येकाला आपलेपणाची अनुभूती मिळत असे. विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये केवळ शैक्षणिक गुणवत्ता नव्हे तर संवेदनशीलता, साधेपणा आणि माणुसकीचे संस्कार रुजविण्याचे कार्य त्यांनी आयुष्यभर केले. प्रार्थना करण्यापेक्षा गरजूंच्या मदतीसाठी पुढे येणारे हात अधिक महान असतात, ही जीवनदृष्टी त्यांनी आपल्या कृतीतून जगली. पुरस्कारप्राप्त माजी विद्यार्थी हे संस्थेचे खरे ब्रँड अॅम्बेसेडर असून त्यांच्या आचरणातून आणि कार्यातून जेएनईसीची ओळख समाजापर्यंत पोहोचत राहते. प्राचार्य प्रतापराव बोराडे हे केवळ नावानेच नव्हे तर आपल्या कार्याने आणि व्यक्तिमत्त्वानेही खऱ्या अर्थाने प्रतापी व्यक्तिमत्त्व होते.

प्राचार्य प्रतापराव बोराडे यांचे व्यक्तिमत्त्व सदैव हसतमुख, प्रसन्न आणि चैतन्यदायी होते. कोणत्याही वयोगटातील व्यक्तीशी सहज संवाद साधण्याची आणि त्यांच्याशी विचारांची सांगड घालण्याची त्यांची विलक्षण क्षमता होती. त्यांनी केवळ शैक्षणिक परिसराची उभारणी केली नाही तर मूल्याधिष्ठित संस्कारातून असंख्य विद्यार्थी घडवले. आज एमजीएमचे माजी विद्यार्थी जगभर विविध क्षेत्रांत उल्लेखनीय कार्य करत असून संस्थेच्या लौकिकात त्यांचा मोठा वाटा आहे. समाजाला देणारे हात घडविण्याचे संस्कार प्राचार्य बोराडे यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये रुजवले. विविध क्षेत्रांतील गुणसंपन्न व्यक्तींना संस्थेशी जोडून त्यांनी एमजीएमची शैक्षणिक परंपरा अधिक समृद्ध केली. आज संस्थेच्या प्रत्येक यशस्वी विद्यार्थ्यामध्ये प्राचार्य बोराडे यांच्या विचारांचा आणि संस्कारांचा ठसा स्पष्टपणे दिसून येतो.

अभिजित कोटणीस : सन्मानार्थी

आज सुमारे साडेतीन दशकांनंतर पुन्हा संस्थेत येण्याचा अनुभव भावनिक आणि प्रेरणादायी आहे. प्राचार्य प्रतापराव बोराडे यांची शिस्त, प्रेमळ स्वभाव, दूरदृष्टी आणि अखंड उत्साह यामुळे त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनावर कायमस्वरूपी ठसा उमटवला. ते कठोर शिस्तीचे पुरस्कर्ते असले तरी विद्यार्थ्यांप्रती त्यांच्यात तितकीच आत्मीयता होती. जेएनईसीचे शिल्पकार म्हणून त्यांनी महाराष्ट्रासह देशभरातील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी उत्कृष्ट शैक्षणिक वातावरण, आधुनिक सुविधा आणि विकासाच्या संधी उपलब्ध करून दिल्या. त्यांनी केवळ कुशल अभियंते घडवले नाहीत तर मूल्याधिष्ठित आणि सक्षम व्यक्तिमत्त्वे घडवली. बदलत्या काळात विद्यार्थ्यांनी तांत्रिक ज्ञानासोबतच वित्तीय साक्षरतेचे महत्त्व ओळखावे, मूलभूत संकल्पनांवर भक्कम प्रभुत्व मिळवावे आणि आयुष्यभर विद्यार्थी राहून सातत्याने नवीन गोष्टी शिकत राहावे. लोकांशी प्रभावीपणे संवाद साधण्याची आणि त्यांच्याशी जुळवून घेण्याची क्षमता विकसित करणे तितकेच आवश्यक आहे. जेएनईसीमध्ये मिळणारे शिक्षण गुणवत्ता, संस्कार आणि सर्वांगीण विकासाच्या दृष्टीने देशातील कोणत्याही नामांकित संस्थेपेक्षा कमी नाही.

अंजली सिन्हा : सन्मानार्थी

प्राचार्य प्रतापराव बोराडे सरांच्या नावाने दिला जाणारा हा सन्मान आयुष्यातील सर्वात मोठा पुरस्कार आहे. मला आजपर्यंत अनेक पुरस्कार मिळाले असले तरी माणसं घडवणाऱ्या गुरूंच्या स्मरणार्थ मिळालेला हा सन्मान विशेष आहे. यशस्वी होण्यासाठी कठोर परिश्रम, स्मार्ट वर्क, प्रभावी नेटवर्किंग आणि स्वतःची सकारात्मक ओळख निर्माण करणारे ब्रँडिंग या चार गोष्टी अत्यंत महत्त्वाच्या आहेत. बोराडे सरांनी जेएनईसीने विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये समानतेची भावना रुजवली असून गणवेशामुळे श्रीमंत-गरीब किंवा कोणत्या राज्यातून विद्यार्थी आला आहे, हा भेद नष्ट होतो आणि प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी संस्थेची ओळख बनून जगात वावरतो, असे आम्हाला शिकवले. आजवरच्या यशामागे संस्था आणि प्राचार्य बोराडे सरांचे संस्कार व मार्गदर्शन यांचा मोलाचा वाटा असल्याची भावना व्यक्त करते.
