International Conference Inaugurated at MGMU

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, July 12: Multidisciplinary education is a concept that embraces diversity. Addressing the many dimensions of life requires the convergence of diverse ideas, cultures, experiences, and disciplines of knowledge. Such diversity broadens our perspective and enables meaningful progress. Positive global transformation cannot be achieved by the efforts of a single individual, institution, or university alone. It requires countries, universities, researchers, educators, and socially conscious citizens to work together towards a common goal. If each one contributes through their work for the welfare of humanity, the world will undoubtedly become a better place, said Suresh Prabhu, Chancellor of Rishihood University and former Union Minister.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 17th International Interdisciplinary Academic Conference, organized by MGM University, held at the University's Rukmini Auditorium in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

The inaugural session was graced virtually by Rohini Bhajibakare, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Distinguished guests present on the dais included Prof. Dr. B. K. Ravi, Vice-Chancellor, North Bengaluru University; Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor, MGM University; Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Registrar, MGM University; Prof. Dr. Zakari Griffith, Bridgewater State University; Prof. Dr. Madhusudan N. Rao; Prof. Uma Shama; Prof. Diana Fox; Prof. Dr. Liu Xiangrong; Dr. Mahmoud El-Hashash; Dr. Vignon Oussa; Dr. Jason Edwards; along with other dignitaries.

Speaking further, Suresh Prabhu said that he was delighted that the conference had been organized at an opportune time. While technology is undoubtedly important, its responsible and meaningful application is even more significant. Indian Knowledge Systems, along with traditional knowledge systems from across the world, have evolved over centuries through experience, experimentation, and continuous learning. Such knowledge is not confined to any one nation but serves the welfare of humanity as a whole. Therefore, collective efforts are essential for studying, preserving, and promoting both Indian and global traditional knowledge systems.

Expressing his appreciation for the collaborative efforts of five international universities in organizing the conference, he remarked that MGM University, with its multidisciplinary academic ecosystem, is an ideal venue for such a global event.

Addressing the gathering, Joint Secretary Rohini Bhajibakare stated that India's ancient education system has always emphasized holistic learning and personality development. As the world's youngest nation, India possesses immense potential. Curiosity, humility, and a lifelong commitment to learning are the true keys to progress, and these values will shape a brighter future.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. B. K. Ravi said that Maharashtra is the sacred land of Jijau, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Savitribai Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He emphasized that multidisciplinary education is essential to address future challenges. While technology and artificial intelligence are important, they can never replace human values and compassion. Technology should always be used for the service of humanity and the welfare of society, which is the central message of this conference.

Welcoming the delegates, Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor of MGM University, said that the University is honoured to host the 17th International Interdisciplinary Academic Conference in collaboration with five international universities. He warmly welcomed students, researchers, academicians, and experts from around the world and informed that the conference features in-depth discussions and deliberations across nine major thematic areas to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative research.

The two-day conference is based on the theme "Harnessing Modern Technology for Educational Transformation." It has brought together international experts, researchers, academicians, policymakers, and professionals from the fields of education, technology, healthcare, management, engineering, and research.

The conference is jointly organized by MGM University, Maharashtra, India; Bridgewater State University (BSU), Massachusetts, USA; Hassan II University, Casablanca, Morocco; Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University (SMBAU), Fez, Morocco; and Tafila Technical University (TTU), Tafila, Jordan.

The programme commenced with the rendition of the Maharashtra State Song, followed by the National Anthem of India and the national anthems of all participating countries. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Registrar, MGM University. The event was compered by Dr. Shiv Kadam and Dr. Zainab Minaz, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Parminder Kaur, Deputy Registrar.

एमजीएममध्ये आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेचे उद्घाटन संपन्न

छत्रपती संभाजीनगर, दि.१२ : बहुविद्याशाखीय शिक्षण ही विविधतेचा स्वीकार करणारी संकल्पना आहे. जीवनाच्या अनेक पैलूंचा विचार करताना विविध विचार, संस्कृती, अनुभव आणि ज्ञानशाखांचा संगम घडणे आवश्यक असते. हीच विविधता आपल्याला अधिक व्यापक दृष्टिकोन देते. त्यामुळे एका व्यक्तीच्या, एका संस्थेच्या किंवा एका विद्यापीठाच्या प्रयत्नांतूनच जगात सकारात्मक बदल घडवून आणणे शक्य नाही. त्यासाठी विविध देश, विद्यापीठे, संशोधक, शिक्षक आणि समाजहिताची जाणीव असलेले नागरिक यांनी एकत्र येऊन समान ध्येयासाठी कार्य करणे गरजेचे आहे. प्रत्येकाने आपल्या कार्यातून मानवतेच्या कल्याणासाठी हातभार लावला तर निश्चितच जग अधिक सुंदर होईल, असे प्रतिपादन ऋषिहूड विद्यापीठाचे कुलपती तथा माजी केंद्रीय मंत्री सुरेश प्रभू यांनी यावेळी केले.

महात्मा गांधी मिशन विद्यापीठाच्या वतीने आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या १७ व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय आंतरविद्याशाखीय शैक्षणिक परिषदेचे उद्घाटन आज विद्यापीठाच्या रुक्मिणी सभागृह येथे उत्साहपूर्ण वातावरणात संपन्न झाले. ऋषिहूड युनिव्हर्सिटीचे कुलपती तथा माजी केंद्रीय मंत्री सुरेश प्रभू यांनी यावेळी उपस्थितांशी संवाद साधला.

या आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेच्या उद्घाटन सोहळ्यास दुरदृश्यप्रणालीद्वारे केंद्रीय ग्राम विकास विभागाच्या सहसचिव रोहिणी भाजीभाकरे तर मंचावर नॉर्थ बेंगळुरू युनिव्हर्सिटीचे कुलगुरू प्रा.डॉ.बी.के.रवी, एमजीएम विद्यापीठाचे कुलगुरू प्रा.डॉ.विलास सपकाळ, कुलसचिव डॉ.आशिष गाडेकर, ब्रिजवॉटर स्टेट विद्यापीठाचे प्रा.डॉ.जकारी ग्रिफिथ, प्रा.डॉ.मधुसूदन एन. राव, प्रा.उमा शमा, प्रा.डायना फॉक्स, प्रा.डॉ. लिऊ शियांगरोंग, डॉ. महमूद एल-हाशाश, डॉ. विग्नॉन ऊसा, डॉ.जेसन एडवर्ड्स व सर्व संबंधित मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.

पुढे बोलताना कुलपती सुरेश प्रभू म्हणाले, ही परिषद अत्यंत योग्य वेळी आयोजित होत असल्याचा मला मनापासून आनंद आहे. तंत्रज्ञान महत्त्वाचे आहेच, मात्र त्याचा योग्य वापर अधिक महत्त्वाचा आहे. भारतीय ज्ञानपरंपरा आणि जगभरातील पारंपरिक ज्ञानप्रणाली या शतकानुशतके झालेल्या अनुभव, प्रयोग आणि चुकांतून विकसित झाल्या आहेत. हे ज्ञान केवळ एका देशापुरते मर्यादित नसून संपूर्ण मानवजातीच्या कल्याणासाठी उपयुक्त आहे. त्यामुळे भारतीय ज्ञानप्रणालीबरोबरच जगातील विविध पारंपरिक ज्ञानप्रणालींचा अभ्यास, संवर्धन आणि प्रसार करण्यासाठी आपण सर्वांनी एकत्रितपणे कार्य केले पाहिजे.

जगातील पाच विद्यापीठांनी एकत्र येऊन या आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेचे आयोजन केल्याबद्दल मला मनापासून आनंद झाला आहे. विविध विद्याशाखांचा समृद्ध संगम असलेल्या एमजीएम विद्यापीठातच अशा परिषदेचे आयोजन होणे अत्यंत समर्पक आहे. प्राचीन भारतीय शिक्षणपद्धतीने नेहमीच सर्वांगीण शिक्षण आणि व्यक्तिमत्त्व विकासावर भर दिला आहे. जगातील सर्वात तरुण देश म्हणून भारताकडे मोठी क्षमता आहे. जिज्ञासा, नम्रता आणि सातत्याने शिकण्याची वृत्ती हीच प्रगतीची खरी गुरुकिल्ली असून याच मूल्यांच्या आधारे आपण उज्ज्वल भविष्य घडवू शकतो, असे सहसचिव रोहिणी भाजीभाकरे यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

कुलगुरू प्रा. डॉ. बी. के. रवी म्हणाले, महाराष्ट्र ही जिजाऊ, छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज, महात्मा फुले, सावित्रीबाई फुले आणि डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांची पवित्र भूमी आहे. भविष्यातील आव्हानांना सामोरे जाण्यासाठी बहुविद्याशाखीय शिक्षण आवश्यक आहे. तंत्रज्ञान आणि कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता महत्त्वाची असली तरी ती मानवी संवेदना आणि मूल्यांची जागा घेऊ शकत नाहीत. तंत्रज्ञानाचा उपयोग मानवतेच्या सेवेसाठी आणि समाजकल्याणासाठी व्हावा, हाच या परिषदेचा मूलभूत संदेश आहे.

पाच आंतरराष्ट्रीय विद्यापीठांच्या सहकार्याने आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या १७ व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय आंतरविद्याशाखीय शैक्षणिक परिषदेचे यजमानपद भूषविताना आम्हाला आनंद होत आहे. जगभरातून या परिषदेसाठी उपस्थित असलेल्या विद्यार्थी, संशोधक, तज्ज्ञ आणि प्राध्यापकांचे एमजीएम विद्यापीठात मनःपूर्वक स्वागत आहे. विविध ज्ञानशाखांमधील संवाद आणि संशोधनाला चालना देण्यासाठी परिषदेत नऊ प्रमुख विषयांवर सखोल चर्चा आणि विचारमंथन आयोजित करण्यात आले असल्याचे कुलगुरू प्रा.डॉ.विलास सपकाळ यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

“शैक्षणिक परिवर्तनासाठी आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाचा प्रभावी वापर" या संकल्पनेवर आधारित ही दोन दिवसीय परिषद आयोजित करण्यात आली असून शिक्षण, तंत्रज्ञान, आरोग्य, व्यवस्थापन, अभियांत्रिकी आणि संशोधन क्षेत्रातील आंतरराष्ट्रीय तज्ज्ञ, संशोधक, प्राध्यापक आणि धोरणकर्ते यांनी यामध्ये आपला सहभाग नोंदवला आहे.

ही परिषद एमजीएम विद्यापीठ, महाराष्ट्र, भारत; ब्रिजवॉटर स्टेट युनिव्हर्सिटी (बीएसयू), मॅसेच्युसेट्स, अमेरिका; हसन द्वितीय विद्यापीठ, कॅसाब्लांका, मोरोक्को; सिदी मोहम्मद बेन अब्देल्लाह विद्यापीठ (एसएमबीएयू), फेस, मोरोक्को आणि तफिला टेक्निकल युनिव्हर्सिटी (टीटीयू), तफिला, जॉर्डन यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित करण्यात आली आहे.

परिषदेची सुरूवात महाराष्ट्र गीत, भारत आणि सर्व संबंधित देशांच्या राष्ट्रगीताने करण्यात आली. परिषदेचे प्रास्ताविक कुलसचिव डॉ.आशिष गाडेकर यांनी केले. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन डॉ.शिव कदम आणि डॉ.जैनब मिनाज यांनी केले तर आभार उपकुलसचिव डॉ.परमिंदर कौर यांनी मानले.
