Program Outline

MBA (Agribusiness) which grooms students into professional managers in the core areas of agribusiness and allied sectors. The objective of the program is to transform the students into competent professional managers for agriculture, food, agri-business, rural and allied sectors. The program caters to the needs of enterprises serving these sectors, both domestic and international. The program will build sensitivity to domestic and international market needs and span the entire agricultural value chain. The program comprises of mixed proportion of capstone projects, workshops, and other extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The courses have been designed to ensure students are equipped with advanced facets of Agricultural business, along with courses of Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology. The program imparts the students with core skills and broad understanding of the dynamics of Agricultural business comprising of following major courses spread over four semesters of the program.

  1. A candidate should have completed Graduation degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks with a good score in CAT/XAT/CMAT/MH-CET/ MGMU PG- CET/ MGMU-NSBT Scholarship cum Admission Test
  2. In-depth personal interview 
  3. Candidates with work experience shall be given additional weightage. 
  4. Preference shall be given to the candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural sciences, Engineering or Food technology.

Program Structure

MBA (Agribusiness) is 2 years post graduate program having 4 semesters (2 per year). Total number of Credits are 105, 1 Credit is of 15 hours. Total number of hours are 1575.

Program Outcome

Students will develop substantial nuances of business, entrepreneurship and technology in agriculture and allied industry which would enable them to critically apply knowledge and skills acquired to manage Agri supply chain, food processing, packaging, distribution and retailing, imports, and exports of agricultural and allied products. The students will also learn the complexity of Agribusiness, and the entrepreneurial opportunities in Agriculture and allied sector.
