Program Outline

M.Sc. Plant Biotechnology  is a two year Master’s degree program structured to be completed in four semesters (two semesters per year). Plant Biotechnology is a specialized course in the Biotechnology which focuses on plants and their applications for deriving economic benefit. M. Sc. Plant Biotechnology course introduces students with the concepts of Plant Biotechnolgy and aims to make them competent for the opportunities in academia, research and industry.

M.Sc. Plant Biotechnology course takes forward undergraduate learning to enhance students knowledge and achieve expertise in the area of specialization. The program aims to build expertise of the students in the niche areas of Plant Biotechnology. The syllabus offers specialized subjects such as Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Plant Tissue Culture, Molecular Breeding, Genomics & Proteomics, Microbiology, Bioinformatics and Environmental Biotechnology. Study of Plant Biotechnology course will equip students with requisite skills to become competent for services in pharmaceutical, Neutraceutical, agriculture and food industries where these skills are required and are in demand.
