Pro (Dr) Vilas Sapkal felicitated with ‘Jewel of LIT Award’

Prof. (Dr) Vilas Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor, MGM University was honoured with ‘Jewel of LIT Award’ by the Association of Alumni of Laxminarayan institute of Technology (LIT), Nagpur on December 26th, 2021. Based on the central theme of ‘One Dream, One Team’, the program was inaugurated by Dr. Nitin Raut, Energy Minister, Maharashtra and presided by the Dr Subhash Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University along with eminent alumni of the LIT and other dignitaries.

An alumnus of LIT, Dr Sapkal also holds a masters and a doctorate from IIT, Bombay. Previously, Dr Vilas Sapkal has served as the Vice-Chancellor of RTM Nagpur University and Acting Vice-Chancellor of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati and Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek. He is an appointed member of the Task Force for implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in Maharashtra. He was also appointed by MHRD as Mentor for four Affiliating Technical Universities under World Bank Assisted TEQIP Project and served as Chairman of Standing Appellate Committee of AICTE. Throughout an illustrious career spanning across four decades, Dr Sapkal has achieved many milestones as a researcher, academician, administrator and policymaker.
