Foundation Certificate in Odissi Dance – Level I (2 semesters)

 Kalā Ādhār Odissi Pratham | कला आधार उडीसी प्रथम

Foundation Certificate program is of 2 years duration (Level I & II : 4 semesters)  that are suitable for part-time students and adult beginners

  • Training system is an ideal blend of traditional Gurukul training and contemporary trends in education.
  • The program helps the learner develop a physical and conceptual understanding of movement and its expressive possibilities.
  • The curriculum facilitates introduction to the Indian Dance Heritage, history of the chosen dance form and symbols and metaphors with static and dynamic movements within a dance tradition.
  • The learner is trained to create short dance narratives, understand body dynamics and blend concepts from theory and practice during the training program.

  • Duration : Two Years (Level I & II), Part Time Program
  • Pattern : Semester System (2 semesters in each level).
  • Gurukul Pattern, Gurukul ambience.
  • Dance residencies, ‘Riyaaz’ (practice) sessions.

Eligibility

  • Candidate should have passed minimum class X.
  • General aptitude to learn dance.
  • Basic understanding to respond to rhythm, music and movement.

Fee Structure

  • Application fees : INR 1000, For foreign nationals & NRIs : USD 70.
  • Tuition fees : INR 15,000 Per year, For foreign nationals & NRIs : USD 250 Per Year.

  • Applicants will be asked to appear for an interview. Basic ability to respond to rhythm and melody will be tested.
