ECO BATALION MISSION” A STEP TOWARDS REFORESTATION
A massive tree plantation initiative “ECO BATALIAN MISSION “was carried out by Mahatma Gandhi Mission, Aurangabad in coordination with Forest department, GOI and Indian military for a period of 45 days at Nirgudi Village. To propagate the scheme to prevent environment and increase green cover, students and faculty members of CSE department planted more than 500 saplings with a great enthusiasm. Mr.Ankushrao Kadam, Secretary MGM Trust and Dr. Vijaya Musande Vice principal and Head-CSE, was also present at the occasion. She addressed students and sensitized about the importance of tree plantation.
PARENT TEACHER MEET
The department has organized a Parents-teachers meeting on Saturday, 27th July, 2019. The main objective of meet was to create a common platform, where teacher and parents come together to enrich the student’s educational experiences and discuss variety of issues, regarding all round development of students. Also commence an interaction with the Class In-charge and faculties/subject in-charges of the departments.
Around 60+ parents attended the meet. Our head of the department Dr. Vijaya Musande welcomed the parents and highlighted the important aspects of department through presentation. The presentation highlighted the different co-curricular and extracurricular activities carried out by the department throughout the year including placement status of the current batch
Industrial Visit to NRSC, Hyderabad:
An industrial Visit to National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad was arranged for final year students of our department. The students got an opportunity to interact with many scientists over there. The students were given exposure to multiple ISRO centres working around the nation for remote sensing data and application needs. The major work carried out through remote sensing application and they also shared the internship opportunities provided by the NRSC.
Tech Mahindra launches Makers Lab to encourage innovation:
A Lecture Talk on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning by Mr. Nikhil Malhotra, Global head, Makers Lab, Tech Mahindra, Pune was conducted for Third year and Final year students. The main aim was to propose to initiate collaboration with tech Mahindra’s Makers lab for internship and projects. The company also showcased few innovative products using virtual/augmented reality.
BATU Intercollegiate Girls Basketball Match
Two students Syed Sanaa( Third Year) and Prachi Upare (Second Year) participated in Inter- University Basketball match and the team won second place in the match. Syed Sanaa got selected to represent BATU university girls team.
CSI TechNext “Best HOD of the Year” award
Prof. Vijaya Musande, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering received the “Best HOD of the Year” award from Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter at the CSI TechNext India 2019 Annual Industry- Acdamia Conference and Awards.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification:
Two students Nikhil K. Das and Purnendu A Gokhale of second year got certified for Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Examination.
Elite + Silver Medal Certificate” in Swayam NPTEL Online Certification:
Two faculty members Ms.Varsha Ajith and Mr. C.M.Mane earned the “Elite + Silver Medal Certificate” in Database Management Systems and Machine Learning respectively in Swayam NPTEL Online Certification Course.
“IoT challenge 2020”:
A workshop on “IoT challenge 2020” was organized for second year students to teach basic of ATMEGA microcontroller and fundamentals of writing embedded C Program for IoT applications. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Atul Dusane and Mr.C.M.Mane under the guidance of Dr.V.B.Musande, Head of the department.
Third year student participated in All India Inter University Shooting Championship:
Gayatri Ghanekar (Third year) got an opportunity to participate in All India Inter University Shooting Championship 2019 held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi. She has received Gold Medal for earlier matches, hence promoted for All India Inter-University Championship.
Industry –Institute interaction:
Dr. D S Deshpande, Mr. S N Jaiswal, Mr. M K Ugale, Mr. A V Dusane and Mr. C M Mane visited Makers Lab, Tech Mahindra, A4 Technology, zCon Solutions Pvt.Ltd and CDAC,
Pune on 14th Nov 2019, to strengthen the industry-institute collaboration as well as to discuss with them their contribution to curriculum design. The Tech Mahindra team also visited our department on 16th Nov to discuss architectural designing for Makers Lab in CSE department.
Elite Certificate” in Swayam NPTEL Online Certification:
Ms. Vanita S. Hanmante earned the Elite Certificate in ‘Digital Circuits’ in Swayam NPTEL Online Certification Course.
